United States: Joe Biden says he is “devastated” after the attack on the Capitol Friday

Constable Brian Sicknick, 42, died of injuries sustained in clashes with supporters of Donald Trump during their violent intrusion on Capitol Hill on Jan.6.

US President Joe Biden said he was “devastated” after the attack in Washington on the Capitol Friday April 2, in which a police officer died.

“Jill and I are devastated to learn of  the violent attack at a security checkpoint at the United States Capitol ,” he said in a statement, ordering the flags of federal public buildings to be half-masted.

One policeman died and another was seriously injured outside the US congressional headquarters when a suspect drove into them, brandishing a knife and being killed. “We know how hard times are for the Capitol, for all those who work there and those who protect it,” lamented the president, less than three months after the deadly assault on the seat of Congress by supporters of Donald Trump.
