Richard Fleeshman, star of The Sandman, is engaged to Celinde Schoenmaker.

Richard Fleeshman, star of The Sandman, is engaged to fellow actor Celinde Schoenmaker, of the Netherlands.

The English actor, who plays Ken on the popular programme, made the announcement over the weekend on Instagram.

A trip to Africa with my girl. He captioned a photo of himself and his fiancee in silhouette, writing, “I’ll be travelling home with a Fiancée.” Totally overjoyed; there’s no way I could be any happier.

After four years of dating, Fleeshman allegedly proposed during a safari in Africa.

Schoenmaker tweeted the news as well, exclaiming, “WOW! We appreciate your kind words and the many kind notes you have sent. Feeling the love, having the time of our lives.

Big love to you all from myself and my FIANCÉ! Wooohooooooooooooow!!!”

Tilly Keeper, Nikki Sanderson, Giovanna Fletcher, Lucy Mecklenburgh, and Candice Stowe were just a few of the many friends and family members who left Fleeshman messages of congratulations.

Fleeshman, who started his career on TV when he was just 12, played Craig Harris on Coronation Street for four years. He went on to become a well-known actor on TV, in London’s West End, and on Broadway.

Renate Blauel in Rocketman, Fantine in the West End production of Les Misérables, and Christine Daae in the West End production of The Phantom of the Opera for their 30th anniversary are just a few of the roles that Schoenmaker is recognised for.
