Paul Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward had a “f*** room.”

Paul Newman, a Hollywood leading man, has admitted that his second wife, Joanne Woodward, was the catalyst for his sexual awakening.

In his posthumous biography, The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man, the late actor candidly discussed his relationship.

He mentioned in there that the “f*** hut” was a designated area in their house for sexual activity.

Before meeting Woodward in 1953, Newman, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 83, claimed he had never considered himself attractive.

While still married to Jackie Witte at the time, the Cool Hands actor acknowledged to his new girlfriend, Woodward, that he lacked confidence in his ability to attract female attention.

In the book, Newman reportedly writes, “I felt like a goodman freak.” This quote was featured in People. The females laughed at me. A jovial prat.

In contrast, he went “from not being much of a sexual menace to something else totally” after meeting Woodward while they were both understudy in a Broadway show.

In 1958, Newman and Witte’s marriage ended after Newman began an affair with Woodward. After beginning the affair, he felt “brutal in my isolation from my family” until the divorce was finalised.

Together, he and Witte have three kids: Scott, Susan, and Stephanie.

The Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid actor also recalled how Woodward had painted an extra room off the master bedroom and put a “thriftshop double bed” to their new Beverly Hills house

She triumphantly declared, “I call it the f*** hut.” This action had been taken with such enthusiasm and love. Several times a week, he and his partner would “go into the f*** hut and just be intimate, rowdy, and ribald,” he wrote. This was true even when his children were around.

In time, they had three daughters: Nell, Melissa, and Clea. They stayed together until Newman passed away.

After starting a family, Woodward settled in Westport, where he is now 92 years old. Allegedly, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2007.

He wanted to “leave some type of record that lays things straight” about his life, so he did a series of interviews in the 1980s that became the basis for his biography.

A few years ago, the interviews were discovered after being lost for decades, as reported by People. Scheduled for dissemination on October 18th, the book now has a publication date.
