Olly Murs needed aid after proposing to fiancée.

Olly Murs admitted that there was a “slightly awkward” moment when he proposed to his now-fiancée Amelia Tank and needed assistance getting up from a kneeling position.

After three years together, the singer finally made it official in June and announced his engagement to Tank, a professional bodybuilder and personal trainer.

Murs, 38, explained in detail to The Sun how he proposed to his girlfriend by getting down on one knee, but he added, “The only slightly awkward thing was she having to help me up after my recent knee operation.”

After hurting his knee while playing at Newmarket’s July Racecourse, the “Dance With Me Tonight” singer had surgery.

As he put it at the time, “essentially shut my leg down and during the gig I was limping the whole time” due to the injury.

We couldn’t be happier,” Murs stated jokingly in a recent interview. “Fortunately, [Tank] said yes all the same.”

He also said the couple want to tie the knot in the summer of 2023, but acknowledged that doing so would be “tricky” given that they would have “just a year to work everything out.”

Murs reflected on the proposal, saying, “But it was the right time, it was ideal.” I mean, there’s nothing wrong with me or Amelia, it’s just that we wanted to make it even better.

While visiting Tank’s family in Plymouth, Murs asked Tank to marry him.

Her brother shot pictures when the pop star proposed to her while they were all on a clifftop together.

I guess I should count my blessings that I didn’t start rolling; she certainly wouldn’t have been able to catch me.

Murs took to Instagram to announce the couple’s engagement with a photo of them embracing against a scenic backdrop of a valley and a lake.

Tank posted a video of her kiss with Murs and the caption, “Here’s to forever with you” on her Instagram to confirm the happy news.

Murs said in February’s issue of New Magazine that he and Tank were “the one” after spending their first vacation together in Morocco.

Murs claimed that after a few days of the couple “being securely together,” Tank commented, “Yeah, this is kind of it now, isn’t it?”

He finished by saying, “We both told each other that we loved each other.” When we returned from our vacation, Amelia said, “I knew right away that you were someone I was going to spend the rest of my life with,” and I echoed same sentiments.
