ellow, turquoise, red, orange … The stars of the TV have chosen the color to bring a little freshness and joy to the red carpet.
After the Met Gala, which was, like every year, the fashion event of the season, the stars were able to unveil new superb outfits on the red carpet of the Emmy Awards. For this 2021 edition , photographers were able to immortalize many very colorful dresses and tuxedos. Neon yellow dress, cerulean costume, scarlet puffed shoulders … It was a storm of bright colors that marked the ceremony.
Black and white , great classics of elegance, were in the minority. Despite everything these classics were well represented with, for example, Billy Porter and sculptural pleated sleeves or a giant belt for Kathryn Hahn. Her partner on screen, in WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen swapped the intense red of her character for a large ivory dress of the most beautiful effect.
As for the ceremony , this year was marked by the coronation of the big favorites of the year: The Crown, The Queen’s Gambit or Mare of Eastown and Ted Lasso . WandaVision and the Handmaid’s Tale , nominated in many categories, left empty-handed. What if womenhave taken center stage with victories in filmmaking in particular, observers have noted that diversity has been roughed up this year. The 12 Emmys for Best Actors and Actresses went exclusively to white protagonists. Enough to once again fuel recurring criticism against major Hollywood events such as the Oscars and the Golden Globes. “EmmysSoWhite” (Emmy if white), headlined the specialized site The Wrap , noting that artists of color were competing in “almost all categories”.
While only some of our favorite nominated shows might take home gold at the Emmys 2021, all the attendees won in the fashion department.
The gowns, hairstyles, and makeup looks on the 2021 Emmys red carpet were truly top-notch. I’m talking some A+ style choices from some very A-list celebrities. So A+, in fact, that they’re graduating with honors. Summa cum laude, my friends. (Yes, I’m going all the way with this education metaphor.)
But seriously: The Emmy red carpet 2021 was delightfully unstuffy and fun. The dresses were beyond pretty (and chic!), with many celebrities opting for bold colors and interesting cuts. Behold: All the looks from the Emmys 2021.
Competition was fierce at the Emmys 2021 this year, and we don’t mean for Outstanding Limited Series or whatever. We mean the fierce and fearsome fashions of the red carpet, where television’s hottest stars battled for sartorial supremacy.
The Emmys 2021 had no shortage of great looks, ranging from stunning to sexy, though we liked it best when the nominees evoked their characters with their choices. Jason Sudeikis literally is Ted Lasso, and we simply won’t hear anything to the contrary.

This year’s Emmy Awards mark the return to an in-person ceremony for the star-studded event, making walking the red carpet all the more special for the nominees and other Hollywood guests.
Accordingly, television stars arrived to L.A. Live’s Event Deck dressed to the nines, donning gorgeous gowns and dapper tuxes. The trend of the night was certainly color, as both Jason Sudeikis and Bo Burnham showed up in velvet blue suits, Kaley Cuoco rocked a neon green dress and Nicole Byer stunned in a bright purple off-the-shoulder gown.
Accessories also owned the carpet, with “The Crown” star Josh O’Connor sporting a statement flower-shaped bow tie on the carpet. Meanwhile, “SNL” actor Bowen Yang pumped up his suit with some silver platform heels.
