Covid-19: in Idaho, American parents and children burn sanitary masks

In the town of Boise, an anti-restriction protest led to fireworks.

UNITED STATES – These are images that we have probably not seen since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic .

A hundred people gathered this Saturday, March 6 in front of the Idaho State Capitol, in Boise, United States, to protest against measures to curb the spread of the virus by burning masks, as the spotted The Guardian .

Videos posted on Twitter – one of which seen more than 3.8 million times – by a reporter show adults encouraging children to throw sanitary masks into a lighted fire in a metal barrel.

More than 170,000 Idaho residents were infected with Covid in 2020 and nearly 1,900 people have died from it.

“I think people have to realize that we are here today to put the brakes on the government, to restore our Republican form of government,” one of the protesters said in one of the videos filmed by the journalist, targeting Joe Biden.

In the midst of his warnings about a possible fourth wave if public health measures are abandoned too early – as is already the case in Texas which has just reopened its economy to 100% -, the American president had accused this week of Republican governors to have a “Neanderthal” reasoning .
