Covid-19: 22,501 new cases identified, “the game is not yet won”, warns Olivier Véran

In addition,  Public Health France reports 272 new deaths from Covid-19 during the  last 24 hours.

“The game is not yet won”  in the face of the Covid-19 epidemic, alerted Olivier Véran, Thursday, February 18, during an update on the health situation . ” We must still hold together, really roll back the virus,” said the Minister of Health, specifying that “the next few weeks will be decisive” . In the past 24 hours, 22,501 cases have been identified, according to data from Public Health France . The day before, 25,018 new contaminations had been identified  .

In addition,  Santé Publique France reports 272 new deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 83,393 deaths since the start of the epidemic (including 59,159 in hospitals). 

There were 25,929 Covid-19 patients hospitalized on Wednesday evening, including 3,340 patients in the intensive care unit. Thursday evening, at 10:45 p.m., the new hospital data had not yet been updated on the Géodes site , of Public Health France.

In terms of vaccination, 2,472,808 people received at least one injection, according to data released by the Ministry of Health on Thursday evening. Of these people, 1,040,773 have already received both doses.
